What happens when I reach my monthly image limit?

Uploads are paused until the next calendar month. No images are ever deleted because of a monthly quota.

What happens when I exceed my storage cap?

You're never blocked from uploading. A small surcharge of EUR 0.25 per GB per month is applied automatically to cover the extra storage. If you reduce your storage below the cap, the surcharge stops.

Are my old images ever deleted?

Not for being old. We never remove images because of their age — upload an archive going back ten years and it stays as long as your subscription does. Files are only removed if you exceed your storage allowance and choose not to pay the surcharge, and then only after a 30-day grace period, oldest first, and only as many as needed to bring you back under the cap. Removal happens in two stages: images are marked and kept for a further 14 days, during which they can be restored, before anything is actually deleted. Images you mark as favourites are skipped. Metadata, observations, statistics and AI classifications are kept for as long as you keep your account, so your statistics stay correct. If a trial ends and you do not subscribe, the image files are removed 30 days later — but your observations, species history and statistics are kept, so if you subscribe months afterwards your records are still there. The one exception is dormancy: if your trial or subscription has ended and you have not signed in for six months, we email you twice and then delete the account. We still recommend keeping local copies of your originals.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes. Every plan is available monthly (EUR 14.90, 24.90 or 44.90) or annually with a 17% saving. Monthly plans can be cancelled any month; annual plans are a six-month commitment in exchange for the lower price.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. Moving to a higher tier, or from monthly to annual, takes effect immediately and the unused part of your current period is credited against the new one. Moving to a lower tier, or from annual to monthly, takes effect at the end of your current period.

What happens if I cancel?

The month you are in always counts in full. Monthly plans end at the end of the current month, nothing is refunded. Annual plans are a six-month commitment: cancel within the first six months and the months you used are recalculated at the monthly price, the difference is refunded — cancel a Scout annual plan in month 5 and you keep five months at EUR 14.90 (EUR 74.50) while EUR 74.50 is refunded. From the seventh month on, the remaining full months are refunded at the annual rate.

Can I export my data?

Yes. All paid plans include full data export — your original images plus a CSV of all metadata, classifications, and observations.
