Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Spoorcraft is a trail camera management platform that helps you organize, classify, and analyze wildlife images. The service includes AI-powered species identification, weather correlation, and observation tracking.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to use Spoorcraft. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information during registration.

3. Free Trial

Spoorcraft offers a free trial that allows you to evaluate the service before committing to a paid plan. The trial includes core features with limited usage so you can determine whether the service meets your needs. We encourage you to make full use of the trial period before subscribing.

4. Subscriptions

Spoorcraft offers paid subscription plans with different image processing limits. Payments are processed through Mollie. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each annual billing period unless cancelled. You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

Under EU consumer protection law, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. By subscribing to a paid plan and consenting to immediate access to the service, you acknowledge that the service begins immediately upon payment and you expressly waive your 14-day right of withdrawal, as permitted under Article 16(a) of Directive 2011/83/EU.

Given that a free trial is available to evaluate the service before any payment is required, no refunds are issued for subscription payments. When you cancel a subscription, your access continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing period.

6. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all images and data you upload to Spoorcraft. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. You grant us a limited license to process your images for the purpose of providing the service (AI classification, thumbnail generation, storage).

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Spoorcraft only for lawful purposes related to wildlife monitoring, conservation, photography, or hunting. You must not upload illegal content or use the service to violate wildlife protection laws in your jurisdiction.

8. AI Accuracy

AI classifications are provided as suggestions and may contain errors. All AI-generated data is user-editable. Spoorcraft does not guarantee the accuracy of species identification, sex determination, or other AI-generated fields.

9. Data Storage and Retention

Each subscription tier includes a storage allowance:

• Trial — 1 GB included
• Scout — 150 GB included
• Ranger — 400 GB included
• Warden — 1,000 GB included

All paid tiers (Scout, Ranger, and Warden) have a 24-month retention period. Images older than 24 months are automatically removed from storage. All associated metadata — species classifications, timestamps, observations, and statistics — is preserved permanently.

Storage surcharge. If your stored images exceed your tier's included allowance by more than 1 GB, a surcharge of EUR 0.03 per GB per month is applied automatically via a recurring Mollie payment. The surcharge amount is recalculated periodically and adjusts as your stored image count changes. If your storage drops back below 90% of the threshold, the surcharge subscription is cancelled automatically.

Failed surcharge payment. If the surcharge payment fails, you will receive a notification and have a 30-day grace period to resolve the issue — for example by upgrading your plan, removing images, or updating your payment method. After the grace period, image files are deleted starting with the oldest until your storage is within the threshold. All metadata (species, timestamps, observations, statistics) is preserved so your analytical data remains intact.

Free trial retention. Trial accounts may store up to 200 images for 90 days. After the trial expires, you have 30 days to subscribe to a paid plan. If you do not subscribe within this grace period, all uploaded images and associated data are permanently deleted.

Spoorcraft is not a backup service. We strongly recommend maintaining local copies of your original image files. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data including EU-hosted infrastructure and regular backups, we cannot guarantee against data loss due to unforeseen circumstances. When image files are removed after the retention period, all associated metadata, observations, statistics, and AI classifications are preserved permanently.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from your settings. Account deletion includes a 30-day grace period during which your data is preserved. After 30 days, all data is permanently and irrecoverably deleted.

11. Limitation of Liability

Spoorcraft is provided "as is" without warranty. We are not liable for any loss of data, images, or disruption of service. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the preceding 12 months.
